ANNUAL PAROCHIAL CHURCH MEETING   The APCM will be held this year on Sunday 30th April during the 9.30 service.  Elections will take place to the Deanery Synod and the PCC, and we are looking for FOUR people to stand for synod and THREE for the PCC.  (Synod members are ex officio on the PCC as well.)  Being on the synod or PCC is a way of serving God in the church as we take a share in the responsibility of leadership, making sure that the church is keeping to its stated aim of helping people meet Jesus.  The PCC has the responsibility of making sure the resources are in place to allow that mission to happen; they speak on behalf of the whole church, and have an important role in representation and communication within the church.  There are some leaflets on the Information Desk giving more details of the Deanery Synod and PCC as well as nomination forms.  Please give this some careful thought.     PAUL

PCC SECRETARY   We wish to appoint a new Secretary to the PCC (Parochial Church Council) from May as Michelle Schutte will be stepping down after three years in the role.  We are very grateful to Michelle for her hard work and dedication to the role; she will be very willing to give advice and guidance to anyone considering applying, and to her appointed successor.

The role of PCC Secretary is fundamental to the smooth running of the PCC, and a significant way of serving God in the church.  There are leaflets on the Information Desk giving details of what it involves.  If you might be interested or would like to know more, please take a copy.

FIRST CHARITY GOLF DAY   On Saturday 17th  June we are holding a major fundraising event for the repairs to the Church Spire and Roof, at Coulsdon Manor hotel.  This will consist of a round of golf with a bacon sandwich, tea/coffee at the start and a hot buffet dinner in the evening.  There will be prizes for nearest the pin, longest successful putt etc.  In addition there will be a wonderful raffle and Grand Auction in the evening.  There are many ways you can support this event.  If you are a golfer then please get a four together and sign up for the event, also please tell any family and friends who enjoy a game of golf about it.  The cost for the day/evening is 240 for a team of 4 or 65 for an individual.  Do you know someone who could sponsor a hole?  This is a great way of advertising a business, hole sponsorship is just 50.  Could you donate a prize for either the raffle or auction?  Non-golfers are invited to join in the evening dinner and auction 25.  We need at least 50 golfers to make this event a success so please try and support it if you can.  For further information please email me at janejones2703@hotmail.com.  Latest News:  We now have 12 golfers booked in plus 25 for the evening meal.  We also have 7 of the 18 holes sponsored.     Jane Jones
