THE NEXT PRAM SERVICE …   will be this Tuesday, 20th March at 9.45 for 10.00  a.m. start in the Church.  We welcome all babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers and their mums, dads, grannies, grandpas and other carers to this short time of praise and fun.  The toddlers and pre-schoolers love to join in with the action songs and rhymes, the interactive story and activity, prayers, and birthday celebrations … and the babies love to watch them.  So if you are at home on a Tuesday morning with a baby or young child(ren), why not bring them along … and there are drinks and biscuits afterwards while we play and chat.  We’d love to see you – why not come and give it a try?

REVISION OF CHURCH ELECTORAL ROLL – 2018.  The revision of the Electoral Roll for The Parish of St. John’s, Coulsdon, will take place between Wednesday 21st March and Wednesday 4th April 2018 inclusive.  If your name is not on the current Electoral Roll (which is rather like a membership list) and you would like it to be, or you wish to make an amendment to your current entry, look out for the forms of application for enrolment or amendment on the Information Desk and when completed these should be placed in the marked box there no later than 4th April 2018 after which no further changes can be made until after the Annual Parish Church Meeting on Sunday 22nd April 2018.  If your name is already correctly on the list you do not need to complete a form.

ENID HARRIS   We were very sorry to hear of the death of Enid Harris recently.  Enid & Ray were very active members of St. John’s until their move to Cornwall a few years ago.  Enid’s funeral service will be held in St. Olaf’s Church, Poughill, Bude, this Wednesday 21st March at 11.00 a.m.  St. John’s will be open 10.00 – 12.00 that morning for quiet personal prayer for anyone who would like to remember Enid.  Please especially keep Ray, daughter Christine and her husband in your prayers.

GAY COLLINS   Those who remember Gay, wife of Rev. John Collins, who was Curate at St. John’s many years ago, will be very welcome at her Funeral Service to be held in the Lady Chapel of Chichester Cathedral this Tuesday 20th March at 3.30 p.m. followed by a reception to celebrate Gay’s life at the Fishbourne Centre, Fishbourne, PO19 8AW.

BIG PARTY’ TICKETS   … which must be bought or booked in advance, are now on sale – just 3 per adult with children FREE! – from the Information Desk in church after services or from the Parish Office – 01737 552461 or email

PLEASE DON’T THROW AWAY … any large empty cereal cartons!  These are needed for the Party, either as they are or flattened but not folded.   And if you have any wrapping paper, coloured card and bulldog clips you could spare, that would be most helpful too.
Thank you.      Nicy Roberts   07871 462208

HOME INSURANCE RENEWAL DUE?   St John’s very respected insurers – Ecclesiastical – are celebrating their 130th anniversary, and wish to share this with churches for whom they provide cover.  They will donate 130.00 for every new home insurance policy taken out.  So if your home insurance is due for renewal, do ask for a quote, and help St John’s with its ongoing fundraising efforts.  Contact or call 0800 783 0130 and quote: Trust 130.        Tony Tucker

WE’RE STARTING TO REV UP FOR …   our Quiz and Grand Auction on Saturday 9 June in the Church.  We’re letting you know well in advance so you can keep the evening free and help us to prepare for a fantastic event.  Tickets for the quiz will be on sale at the end of March.  Meanwhile, is there something you could donate for the Grand Auction – a service such as babysitting, gardening, cooking a meal, ironing, a voucher for an outing or maybe the company you work for or your company could offer something?  More information later but please contact Jane Jones on 01737 550182 or at with offers and ideas.

A BIG THANK YOU…   to everyone who supported the MU Cake Sale on Mothering Sunday. Total donations amounted to an amazing 180!!  As well as treating our mums, grans and ourselves last Sunday with delicious cakes, this money will make a significant difference to the lives of women in other countries, and not only to them, as the impact will transform their families and the communities in which they live. Thank you for helping us to ‘Make A Mother's Day’.
